  • So much elderflower on the nose. It's wide open and floral, along with cut grass and meadow scent. On the palate it's elderflower again, but the flowers enrobe herbs and spices - anise, cardamom. Perhaps saffron? The anise is there in a long finish. The off-dry balance of this is perfection. There's ripeness at the core but freshness all around. Exactly what I hoped from this Kabinett. Such a fabulous wine. I drank this quite chilled (maybe 9C?) on a warm, sunny day with a bowl of sweet local strawberries. Happiness.
