Ok, bear with me...Nose of shellfish/oyster shells, scallops, a touch of tidal funk...whaaa?!? Resolving into dried apples and again...oysters somehow and yet, not bad.
Palate of intense savory black fruit, cherry and brambles/stems, med+ tannins and med+ acid plus reduction/gunflint. 13.5% Alc.
My notes don't do this justice but it is a remarkable and delicious step up from the also-tasty Moines. A wow wine with upside potential given time, and this from a ripe, let us say "lesser" vintage.
Someone just moved my cheese...So THIS is what Clos St. Jacques can be.

FWSG 2018 mini horizontal tasting. Drank in Grassl Cru. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, pronounced intensity, with aromas of extremely floral peonies, violets, roses, supreme perfume, fine red cherries, strawberries, red plum, mineral inflected earth. Developing. To die for kinda nose. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol, superfine filigreed tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet red cherries, strawberry, fine red berries, sweet spices, flower juice, inner meatiness, mineral infused earth. Such a fine long lingering finish. Outstanding excellent quality. I estimate it had been aired for at least a few hours in glass vial already. Really drops my jaw and blows my mind how good this young CSJ is showing!

PoB - Burgundy 2018 En Primeur (Hong Kong): During an En Primeur walkabout tasting, so only brief impressions. Fourrier really handled this vintage well. The wine is fresh, complex and elegant. The CSJ has, no surprise, the edge over the also very good Cherbaudes.

POB tasting EP18- Another solid vintage for Fourrier. While it does not have the wow factor of his 2015 vintage, it is still a solid CSJ for Fourrier. But the Cherbaudes on the side shows similar sensation at this stage.
