  Second go with this Gimli cuvée in the 17 vintage - close to 2.5 yrs after the first bottle - aged with grace and impressive stuff in this price range. Dark & dense red, opaque in appearance. Palate sings with ripe blueberries, dark cherries, plums, violet & dried herbs. Medium-bodied despite v moderate ABV, well-developed with lots of spice & and mature fruit, just enough acidity to maintain freshness, OK structure though slighlty flat through mid-palate, juicy & deep while finishing on a spice-warm, fruity note.

  Un autre très beau Bierzo de Perez, sur les fruits noirs écrasés, émanant une grande fraicheur, avec une pointe de verdeur et une touche feutré
  En bouche c'est gourmand, jouflue, avec de fins tanins et une acidité justement dosé, le tout est bien équilibré. Assez long et salivant sur la finale.

  Nose of dark fruits, especially cassis. Fuller then I was expecting, I could have mistaken this for a N.Rhone syrah. Fine grain tannins and good acidity.

  Nez très fruité, exubérant et riche. Puissance en intro mais bien guidée vers un milieu de bouche en finesse et une belle fraîcheur en finale. Toujours étonnant cette équilibre que Perez va chercher entre maturité et légèreté. Très convaincant.

  Needs a good amount of air to remove the reduction. 2 hours in decanter will help. Very Cabernet franc from the Loire type of nose with aromas of pencil shavings, peppers, blackberries and a faint farm nose. Very nice concentration for a wine at this price point and has already a good balance.
