Drank with beef steak served witth madeira sauce and anchovy butter. Colour was good, with no obvious browning at the edge. Nose was a little lacking. Wine was beautifully integrated and balanced, tannins were soft and mellowed, overall sweetness was still there, although not surprisingly at this age the fruit was beginning to go backwards. Thoroughly enjoyable!

Garnet red, no purple remaining. Aroma of earth and stewed fruits. Redcurrant jelly. Lovely oak and hint of fruitcake. Delicious with roast veal.
