Restaurant purchase @ Buckeye Roadhouse, Mill Valley, CA (14.1% abv - $56 vs Avg Retail $20). Served with Smoked Pork and Brisket. This seems to be another of those wines you either love or hate with little middle ground, given the diversity of CT ratings. In fairness, wine was an accompaniment to a meal and not tasted stand-alone save opening. As someone mentioned, this was paired with grilled/smoked meats; all in our party liked the wine.
Clear Ruby Red in the glass; Nice nose of Cabernet with red berries, blackberry & cassis. Medium-Bodied, Bold & Bright with good acidity. Subdued Tannins and Medium finish.

Really nothing appealing about this wine especially at this moderate but not inexpensive level. Nose was unspectacular, some sort of sweet tinny mess of fruit, with entirely too much cherry. I thought I was drinking Cherry lime aid from Sonic. Funny aftertaste really nothing that I liked!

Day one did not like at all. A bit on the rough side as not pleasant tasting. Day 2 a different wine. It smoothed out nicely. It became an easy drinker as a stand alone.

A bold, rich Cabernet with aromas of cassis, black cherry, mint and violet combine with a bouquet of pungent oak, anise and warm vanilla. On the palate, lush cherry, caramel, and clove are wrapped in smooth tannins and a long juicy finish
