All wines had similar medium to full ruby colors. Nose is from an obviously hot vintage. The nose is flamboyant and nearly over the top. Dominated by caramel, vanilla, spices & an animal fat note that is so common in over the top, hot wines. In the mouth, this was fat, full bodied and a bit flabby, exhibitting surprisingly fine grained tannin and a soy sauce, salty note that would appear in all wines with varying intensity. Surprisingly, the alcohol is in check and well balanced. The finish is dominated by the sharp acidity and lacking length.
