My wife is working her way through the second case, so I thought I'd pour a small glass. Fail. Seems a bit too industrial for my taste, with packaged yeast, white and yellow fruit that seem more manufactured than grown. She loves it, and it's cheap (in the full sense of the word), so by extension, I love it too. Ok, I don't. Decent patio sipper or picnic wine, but no more. Some Godello can age beautifully, this isn't one of them. 12,5% abv. NR

Decent glass of wine. Consisting of two grape varietals I've never had before - Godello and Dona Blanca. The nose is quite fat creamy but the taste is driven by minerals and appears slender, straight and erect. When first smelling this wine, I would never had guessed that this wine in fact is made without any wood involved. Turns out this wine is aging aprox. 5 months on the residual remnants from the fermentation proces.

Not the most appealing nose - autolytic notes of bread dough, lanolin, wet wool and a hint of cashew nut.
Palate very Chablis like - wet stones, starfruit and a very long, salinous mineral finish.
This wine needs food.
Worked well with Waitrose 1 Gouda and black pepper thins followed by a fish pie.

Mighty Mencia and the Val de Sil (Prince Sydney, 40 Hansard Street): Green melon, pear, a little fresh herbs, touch of sulphur. Juicy, fleshy, herby with pear and pear skin, finishes with alcoholic warmth. Hmm
