My last bottle sadly. Threw a lot of sediment on the final glass and the palate indicated this is going through evolution- hard to say whether this is getting better as the starting point was so great!

I didn’t take detailed notes, but I really loved this. Aromas of fig and cherry, a little amaretto. Plush texture, medium acidity and tannins. Long finish. Clearly modern in style but I don’t mind that at all. To be honest I think I enjoyed this a little more than the 2010 Brunello, such a fun decadent wine.

After 4 hours slow ox and decanting to serve: Nose is soft leather, a little smokiness, dried rose petals, something citrus and fresh- blood orange peel? Acidity calmer than on opening, moves smoothly into redcurrants and black cherries- sweet red fruit mid palate tempered by some minerality- tannin tobacco leaf tapering into that citrus and espresso tannin finish that just persists. The nose, palate and finish are all aware of the oak frame and structure without it ever being a dominant note. Class in a glass!
Very good+. While this was just fine for most folks on the PnP, I'd suggest at least 45 minutes of aeration in decanter as the mineral side (and more floral notes) really (begin) to come alive. Medium-bodied, very fine, sweet tannins, and good, elegant volume that leads to a long, graceful finish. No, it's not traditional; YES, it's totally delicious (and structured). I'll look to drink my others in the coming 4-8 years. highly recommended

Oops! Opened another one! So good! Wish I had the patience to let the oak integrate but the fruit, nose and finish on this is so compelling young.
