Wow, as always the Laroche style is textbook Chablis. This is simply marvelous, especially in the balance and the purity of the wine. Citrus, oyster shells, calcaire, salty, a slight almondy/beeswaxy hint, floral and a touch of well integrated oak.
There is obviously intensity and structure to last for many years. Would recommend to wait 5 years before trying again, as this is almost painfully young. I have a feeling this is one of those wines that in 10 years time will feel like it could be just a couple years old. 93++

Laroche's 2017 Blanchot Réserve de l'Obédience is open-knit tonight with apple and floral tones, the nose comes across pretty rich, but the palate shows great minerality and bright acidity. Very good. Drink starting 2025. (Bottle number 1397)

Wilson Daniels Dinner (Smyth and The Loyalist - Chicago IL): Bright apple on nose and palate with floral and lemon peel background notes. An impressive mineral texture throughout with lots of energy. I haven't had this wine in several vintages, and find it more precise than I recall from before.

Chablisien nose, gushing acidity with good salinity. Probably improves more, but it is drinking well now.
