Chablis and Champagne 19-22.09.2011; 9/19/2011-9/22/2011: 50% fermentation in oak. Purring honey / ripe yellow plum scent with a butter/almond marzipan edge; surprisingly light entry; very low acidity on mid-palate; slightly bitter finish. Inexplicably, this costs €82 au chai(!) and is evidently aimed at those with more money than sense or taste. 89P

(Most of) The Burgundy Verticals Tasting at La Paulee 2013 (Colicchio & Sons, New York): Less citrus than the '09 but deeper and more powerful with more wood showing than in either of the bracketing vintages. I preferred the '09 in this case.

A very taste wine where all aspects are really good. The smell is good and the taste is great. Some floral noes and a bit of oak.
