Simple, not very structured, but the bright tannins over bold fruit go well with rich food; pleasant with duck, although not the best pairing.
Nose: surprisingly bright tannins over slate, cherry wood, and cassis. Palate: Tart! Bright tannin&spice-laced red fruit into broad, fruity (but not very black) cassis & mineral. A bit of spice lingers on the sides, but the finish is a bit thin and mainly tart. Not very structured or complex, but has the acid to stand up to duck. Not the finest, but good QPR.
Accidentally left open overnight; survived without turning to raisin juice, but softened less than expected.
