The Fourth Annual World’s Largest Blind Tasting of American Pinot Noir: Retail $24. Under screw cap. On the dark side of Pinot, again, with a bit of spice and some baked fruit and a hint of vanilla. The palate is also reserved, but eventually some fruit ekes out and pairs well with the spice.
Drank with mushroom gravy and minute steaks, and bacon wrapped stuffed hatch chili peppers. This bold pinot was a bit big for that. Decanted nearly an hour. Dark ruby in the glass. Fruity nose. Light-medium body. Lots and lots of black fruit, as well as orange pith, sage and cigar. Structured tannins and balanced acidity. Will please a crowd and will go down quickly, so have plenty. Thinking it deserves buying another to cellar a few years.

Popped and poured into a hotel wine glass at slightly cooler temperature.
Dark cherries, cedar, spice. Feels like this wine has dinner depth.
