Orange wine from the Croatian Uplands: Riesling. 12,5 % Alcohol.
Strong amber color.
Pleasant aromas of black currant, apple, spices, vanilla, caramel and cedar. Flavors of apple, spices and minerals.
Dry. Full body. Fresh acidity. Chewy tannins. Good balance. Good structure. Some complexity.
Long finish with apple and spices.
An excellent orange wine. A white wine with all the good features of a red wine. Not just an excuse to make a strange and funky wine. It’s clean, powerful and structured. Works good with food (ossobuco) and even better on its own. Still a bit rough around the edges. Will probably improve with age and get smoother and more complex. 92/100.
