Superb. Needs time to breathe to let the subtle and myriad flavors rise to the surface-- lavender, licorice, and sage come after the initial heavy black fruit delivery. Atypical.

A bit of a thin and reedy grenache/syrah blend with a modest mouthfeel and midpalate. Subdued nose of kirsch and licorice and a noticeable dollop of booze (15%) that the fruit, even though it is clean and pure, cannot balance.

Black cherry, sage, anise. I didn't let this one breathe, and I can't tell that this mattered (once it came up to room temperature from the cellar).

Let breathe 1 hour. Cherry-anise-almond flavors. Quite nice.
