Initial impression not great balance (fat, waxy, low acidity, 14% abv) but with time, alcohol indusing and general acceptance that this is how it’s supposed to be (which I knew already) I like it for what it is. Butter, tropical fruit. Glad I did not pair it with food and glad I had it as the 2nd wine of the night.

Ripe pear, apricots and a hint of bitterness. Not as voluminous and coarse as some Viognier. With air this develops into an intense and flavorful, yet elegant wine.

14% alcohol. Diam10 closure, impressively long. Pale golden colour. The nose is aromatic without being too obvious or insistent; yellow flowers and ripe apricot. The mouth is even better, with remarkable intensity, superb finish and commendable acidity; all this without being excessively perfumey, which is one of the pitfalls of the grape. A success without a doubt.
This wine and Vlllard's Contours de Deponcins have replaced Condrieu in my purchasing habits. They may lack the last degree of subtlety or concentration of the best Condrieu (though I have not had them side by side, preferably blind), but they are sufficiently close for my purpose for a much more reasonable outlay.

14% alcohol. Bright straw colour. Floral aromatic nose with some exotic fruit and pleasant notes of sweat (make what you will of that). The mouth is pretty intense with yellow soft fruit in evidence. Not the complexity of the best Condrieu, but a highly satisfying Viognier with some Northern Rhône character. A repeat purchase.

Perfumed with apricot, touch of lychee, a little ginger spice. Plenty of glycerol and alcohol heat in the mouth, ripe apricot, touch of texture on the mid palate ,finishes with bitter notes. Hmm.
