  • Keller Open Afterparty (Weingut Keller, Flörsheim-Dalsheim, Germany): The Terra Montosa comes from grapes out of all Cru-Vineyards Weingut Breuer owns. They are situated in Rüdesheim (Berg Roseneck, Berg Schlossberg and Berg Rottland) and Rauenthal (Nonnenberg). It’s a classic "second" wine like the von der Fels from Keller. For this special bottling, Theresa Breuer let one barrel of the "normal" Terra Montosa sleep for another year in the cellar to see how it develops. As far as I know it’s not a barrel selection of the "best" Terra Montosa barrel. The wine is not sold officially.
This bottle was brought double blind I in the beginning I hardly recognized that it’s Riesling. A nice mineral flavor profile mixed with some unripe yellow stone fruit, white flowers and a certain creaminess on the nose. On the palate this Terra Montosa Patientia is bone dry in every sense of the word. This is especially surprising as the 2015 is considered as a warmer vintage. The fruit also shows up but in nice underlaid way. It seems like that this one more year in the barrel made this wine even more balanced. Curious to try a actual release (2017) of the normal Terra Montosa to compare.
