  • Pavelot had an older style more tanic and brooding than some of the younger wine makers in the village that favor more fruit forward wines. These wines keep well. The 2009 Beaune 1er Cru Bressandes is just starting to come of age. It has a nice cherry red color with a great nose immediately on opening. The palate is fresh bold Bing cherries, spices including cinnamon and coriander, along with a subtle smokie taste. There is good acidity and the tannins are very smooth. The flavors were moderate as the finish making the wine a perfect pairing with a roasted chicken and grilled vegetables. No sign of fading this wine will keep for many more years.
