(Mercouri Estate Red) #3; VaynerPAZZZ; COLOR-dark; NOSE-very heavy sour cherry; gets very green (broccoli rabe component); very solid; very Italian-esque; TASTE-a little light for me; very pleasant upfront and finishes well, but is very hollow on the mid-palate; many would like, but not interesting for me; the flavors are a little too subtle; nice English Pea component on the attack; GV-87

WSET Mercouri Estate 1997-2007 vertical. This is supposedly one of the best vintages of Mercouri according to the owners. The wines are all of high quality but I found this wine slightly more watery and with slightly less ripe tannins than 2003.

a little light. cranberries and cherries on the nose plus some good but funky smoked meat gaminess. i kind of liked it. finished 4 days later and the gaminess had turned to a sort of dusty flavor but still had some red fruit also. nice wine.
