  • Prior bottle was just over a year ago and this bottle showed noticeably better, but still in line with what I'd initially anticipated. Good aromatics on the nose this time with lemon accented peach along with some background white apple notes. Still between light and medium bodied but with a more open and expressive front side showing white apple, pear and even some melon notes. Mix of white peach and white apple through the middle with good depth and a bit more definition than my prior bottle. The mid-body has really open up quite nicely and this increased depth works very well with the acidity, lemon and other citrus and mineral notes through the finish. Feels more complete today and I'll plan to open my next bottle in June/July 2023.

  • On the nose, tropical notes.
Round and tasty, a bit milky with high acidity.

  • Almost nothing on the nose initially, but as it warms, gets much more aromatic with lots of citrus notes (particularly lemon) and minerals. Between light and medium bodied with bright, slightly tart white apple upfront, moving to softer, more rounded and open apple through the middle with background pear notes. Lots of lemon on the backside along with acidity and a strong slate/mineral quality. Particularly for the price, there's a lot of complexity and character. Given how well it opened up, I suspect it will be even better in coming years and I'll plan to open my next bottle in June/July 2022.

  • Consistent with previous notes. Great QPR.

  • Definitely a serious Vouvray for the price. A little fuller bodied and less acidic than the 2017. On opening it packs massive citrus aromatics, rich zestiness on the palate, honey, floral. With some air comes more ripe fruit notes and a nice stoney mineral note. Probably will drink the rest of my bottles over the next couple of years. I don't see this as a wine for longer cellaring.
