Big fan of this wine. Not as much extract as the 2010. Reserved nose of green apple, lemon, mineral, herb and smok. Good restraint. Medium bodied, with a touch of sweetness balancing firm acids. Mineral, clean, fresh and balanced. Excellent, well priced, intro Vouvray. Great with fried chicken. More tension and less sweet than a Monchhof Riesling 2011 opened along side.

Tight at first, but opens very nicely. Herbal nose, with citrus. Palate is a touch sweet, with apple and pear, and a very long finish. Very complex. I'd recommend decanting this for an hour to get the most out of it. Pair with medium-bodied food, perhaps poultry or pork.

A bit of wet wool blew off. Clementines, orange blossom, anise, apricot. Honey notes after a bit of air. Mineral backbone.
