Vinetasters: Cabernet Franc (Skokie, IL): Served double blind. Pencil shavings on the nose -- very nice. But a disjointed palate with very shrill acidity and bitterness on the finish, not to mention a weird dried date/fig note that seems to make the wine feel much older than it is (I would have guessed something around 10 years old). An unpleasantly skunky, herbal thing here as well. My 3rd, group's 2nd.
