Solid Malbec style, albeit New Zealand, not the traditional Argentinian. Dark red colour doesn’t give too much hint of the oak that’s been used. Legs suggest a syrupy/sweet drink. However… in the mouth, it is a very balanced drink all round, great with a rib eye steak (rare/medium of course!). The mouth feel is smooth, full of dark red fruits and the vanilla you expect from the oak, but not overpowering. For the price, it has a really good length to it.
