Really solid. Opened up with an hour of air. Still young with plenty of structure but well balanced showing copious dark fruit, cassis and a slight herb note.

Nice aroma dark fruits pencil lead. Aerated and decanted for 30 minutes and still a little tight and acidic. A little on tonic side which makes sense based on its terroir. Will add to review after tasting on day 2. This is a 2016 so could use a little more time in bottle. Compared to a 2014 paraddux that was 2 days old. Different wines ( paraddux a unique Bordeaux style including some Syrah) but still interesting to compare. Wine texture and aroma goes to mt veeder. Paraddux is smoother, less tannic and less acidic. Will have to re assess tomorrow and also not same vintage year.

nice nose, but muted palate as expected; good structure; quite consistent with other vintages... needs many years in the cellar
