[Redacted]; 7/10/2015-7/11/2015: There's something quite meaty about this madeira, which is something I've never picked up before. Is it the grape? The palate has a fair bit of citrus peel and caramel. This is dense and rich, but it's not dark and brooding in the way d'Oliveiras gets. There's a slight greenness to it that I found quite alluring as well.

Madeira @ The Caucus Room (Washington DC): A bit of a muted nose. Strawberry, molasses and bullion. A bit of saline and old wood. Bitter finish. OK, but seemed a bit flat. GOOD.

The Fine Wine Experience - Madeira: Mahogany, translucent. Solid and earthy nose, quite complex. Luscious and alcoholic, somewhat port like, raisiny, bitter finish.

Sweat socks with a sweeter undercurrent. Firm, heady finish. Bual-like sweetness. Tons of seawater. Interesting, but somewhat funky.
