This is like drinking a Sunday roast. Beef stock, root veg and black pepper are very pronounced on the palate. Nicely balanced with gentle tannins and firm acidity on the attack. Has a savoury aniseed intensity that is curiously pleasing.

The best of three bottles. This shows sprightly lavender-inflected tart red fruits and herbal liqueur (amaro) on the nose, and a compact core of brisk brewed fruit, sticky hoisin, carbon, and a thick coat of fine tannins. I am liking where this is going. Coulet's wines are very stylish and thrilling when they are on; they are not always on. This bottle has rekindled my interest in the domaine.

The infinitely cold and dense dot. Dark and inky and not showing much. Will this turn the corner down the road? Or will the fruit be dead once this gets around the bend?

Pronounced smell of crowberry, smoke, oak and some raw meat; similar in the mouth – very syrah, dark berries, very powerful but not heavy, good acidity, tannic, quite long. However, completely lacking in complexity, a bit tiring. Might be better in 10-20 years, but I am not convinced.

Return to terroir - Biodynamic tasting event (Oslo): Dark red color. Aroma of red berries. Too tannic at this point but will probably be great in some years.
