A 100% Riesling from Monchhof sourced from grapes grown around Ürzig and Erden on blue Devonian slate. 60g/L of RS, 8.5% ABV, 8g/L of acidity.
Color is pale lemon, nose is medium intense with flavors of green and yellow apples, white peach, apricot, wet pebbles, fresh grass and some hints of honey. Palate has a medium body and medium+ flavor intensity with zippy acidity and very well entangled minerality along with notes of yellow fruits, honeysuckle and a touch of wool-y spliffs. Finish is medium in length with lingering minerality.
A pretty basic Spatlese, quite youthful and I'd reckon a bit "basic," but it's still a good example of a more mineral-driven Mosel. I don't see this having an amazing ageing potential, so I'd say drink within the next 10 years with some Goan Fish Curry to let that acidity and minerality do its magic!

Aromas of petroleum, honey, and apricot. The palate was the same with marmalade and citrus. Medium minus body with medium acidity and finish. Fantastic with cookies, Superbowl treats :)
