  • A nice, if unique GG. Very bright and sunny with ripe grape, pear and apple fruit the most noticeable characteristics. Light yet rounded. Lacks some of the grip and structure of my favorite GG’s. Very drinkable yet should age. An almost pretty GG. I might buy a few more just to see how it ages. See if more complexity emerges. Almost too easy to drink. (89+)

  • AP 41 19. So this is coming as close as I’ve experienced to a really enjoyable dry Riesling. I get the impression Johannes Selbach left some residual sugar in this that really balances the very ripe grapes of 2018. The sharpness of the alcohol balances the intense fruit much as the salinity and acid in a pradikat wine does. Dense and multi-layered, this still isn’t my preferred type of wine, but I really appreciate what he’s been able to say here. I’ll grab a few bottles for times I’m dining with people who don’t love sweeter wines.
