Dark and spicy CS with complex oak aromas; tobacco, cloves, nutmeg, dry wood and vanilla. Also, loads of blackcurrant and a hint of damp leather. Incredibly smooth and well balanced. Long, fruit-driven finish with a vague hint of chocolate and coffee.

South African vs Australian Cabernets Zoom blind. Drank in Grassl 1855. Appearance is clear, deep intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of emerging earth, tobacco leaf, black plums, blackcurrant, black cherries, dark red cherries + plums. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol, gentle fine high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of earth, sandy soil minerality, dark red plums, dark red cherries, blackcurrant, licorice, bit of tobacco leaf in the background. Long finish. Very good quality. Has a "classic" feel about it. Will develop well over the near term.

Dark fruits and heavy tobacco on the nose followed by a palate of the very same dark fruits and dark chocolate. Medium to full bodied and medium length with polished tannins

Caviste, UK, Zoom tasting of South Aftican wines. Introduced by Gottfried Mocke. 90% cab sauvignon and 10% cab franc. Blackcurrant colour. Lovely nose, more ripe blackcurrant, Rich, full, earthy. Drinking well now, but surely needs more time to be at its peak, maybe 2 or 3 years.

Dark garnet. Earthy, volatile nose. Tannic, dry and chalky. Kirsch with alcohol bite. Not great...
