Taste Our Wine of the Month & Other Newbies! (San Diego Wine Co.): “Comprised of frt from 3 different vyds (Mizany, Timber Crest, & Pauline’s) with differing combinations of clones & terroirs; Harvested Sept ’18; Fermented in one-ton, open top fermenters; Aged 11 mos in 20% new FR & E. European oak barrels; 15.2% ABV;”
P: LM body; RNDISH entry with NICE, ALMOST swtish frt (approaching threshold R.S.?) met by an astringent pucker which stays within hailing distance of the init frt as it fairly seamlessly works its way into & through the LONG, balanced finish with a tangy/swtness & a very, VERY slight bitterness to the dusty tannins. NEEDS 1-2 yrs, but has the potential for elegance down the line, & should drink into, probably through, '25. My EXC-/EXC; Probably 92 pts WS (though I was unable to confirm), & Double Gold from ’20 S.F. Chronicle @ $28. [This vendor's $23.99 is $5 < wine-searcher's lowest current posting.]

Excellent when paired with a nice steak. Very full and rich, with a nice mouthfeel that encourages sipping.

Dark Inky black color bold a fruit forward but dry. Soft tannins and oak black cherry and dark fruit, plum, cocoa and blackberry. Total porch pounder.

N: Closed; Toast slightly atop berries & earth? Intensity lurking?
