  • Absolutely decadent and elegant. A masterful balance of orchard fruit, flowers, soft pitch of salinity and mineral characters, and fruit pith aromatic bitterness and the smoothest hints of pastry cream, with good acidity. For those who prefer a balance of freshness with everything else described in between, this is in a very good place now. Having never had any PYCM Abbaye De Morgeot I am not sure now if it was a good idea starting with the cuvee, but either way I’m glad this is the way it is and it turned out better than expected. No reduction detected, straight pop and pour, and within 30 minutes it was pairing superbly with a goat cheese tarts with mixed vegetables, lobster risotto, grilled lobster with sauce, and branzini. The prices have skyrocketed so much sadly, but always a treat to enjoy this iconic producer, which still offers some form of value.

  • One of the highlights of PYCM's range in 2017, with such killer tension and verve. Orchard fruit, beeswax, and slight smokey reduction. Crisp and bright. Very good. Drink starting 2023.
