Really exiting aussie-wine. Lots of delicious red fruit, black currant, cassis, chocolate, spices and flowers. The taste is delicious and velvety where the fruit and the 14% alcohol is perfectly woven together in a smooth yet fresh and vibrant manner without “tipping over” and turn into fake fruit candy. This is the real deal.

Quick taste on second day open. Can be enjoyed now with a long decant. A great example of full bodied, but balanced, Barossa. As the Duck commented, this is very much in the same style as Standish and Sami Odi. I will try keep mine for 3-5 more years before accessing.

Same bottle as collector. First wine in this double blind tasting. My immediate thought on the first sip was new world Shiraz given the clear pepper notes, which once again tells me not to quickly dismiss your first thought when tasting wines. After a few sips and given the combination of very ripe fruit but also good acidity I settled for Tuscany and had a blend a la Giusto di Notri in mind. Not a bad wine for sure, even thought not really my style. Initially very smooth and easy but with more air there are some drying tannins towards the finish.

Tasted blind. Expressive nose of dark fruit with a strong eucalyptus note pointing to Barossa. We were not sure if this was 100% Shiraz or a Cab blend. The finish is a bit chocolaty pointing to generous oak usage. Other than that it is a well made crowd pleaser. 14.5% Alc is also ok given its terroir.

Deep ruby red in the glass. The jammy, luscious aromas hit you straight in the face - stewed bramble, blueberry, blackcurrant, raspberry. Complemented by notes of sweet spices coming from the big oak dosage. Same and linear on the palate, not much interest beyond that. But hey, for the price, one can't really complain. It's a textbook Shiraz that represents what it is and where it's from quite right.
