  • Went nice with grilled salmon, lots of berry flavors (strawberry, currants, red berries), earthy, nicely blended.

  • One off ($18) from the big box wine store about 6 months ago, drank with Erin and Connor with some snacks on the deck on a lovely Noe Valley evening. Short note here: mid spectrum CA pinot with mostly red fruit (cherries, currants, strawberries, maybe a bit of pomegranate and a bit of black cherry/currant), nice earthiness, mixed spice. Lovely acidity giving the fruit really good spine. Good to go now off the pour, not a ton of complexity or intensity, but great lift and nice, bright fruit. May have some small upside and should keep for 3-5+ years but is probably close to peak. Should do well with the usual pinot foods (heartier fish, chicken, lean pork). As I’ve commented elsewhere, this producer’s wares seem to intermittently be ending up in discount bins, where they’re screaming values. Certainly wish I had more of this to drink with my less winey friends. 91+

  • No knowing the price, I liked this. Not sure I would spend $40 on it but maybe. Good solid Pinot with depth.

  • Bright ruby color. The nose pops with black cherries and rich plums, along with sweet perfume, incense sticks, roasted chestnut, cocoa and leather. On the palate, this shows velvety tannins, bright acidity, and a nice mix of juicy and tangy fruits (strawberries, pomegranate, cherries). Notes of clay, leather, earth and perfume add complexity. Concentrated yet vibrant, this needs some time to unpack and open up. Intricate spices and floral tones on the finish. Aged 10 months in 28% new French oak.
