Definitely detect the markers of a first rate SRH Pinot on the nose and palate, but it is largely devoid of fruit at 7 years old and the elements of earthiness and mustiness dominate. The finish is lasting but a bit bitter. Needs to be accompanied by food.

Medium-deep ruby red in color. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, strawberries & plums with overtones of floral & earthy/dusty notes, spices, minerals & a hint of oak/vanilla in the background. Medium bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors cherries, strawberries & plums with spices, cherry-cola notes, minerals & oak/vanilla. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present although it does have the fruit & structure for continued development with a few years of additional aging. Excellent value when found at discount.

The Second Annual Blind Tasting of American Pinot Noir: Retail $50. A bit on the darker side both in color and aroma. Vanilla and red fruit. Rich and full with a nice level of tartness. On the bigger side of Pinot. Excellent. 91-93 Points. thedrunkencyclist.com

Maybe the best $30 Pinot (got it on sale at K&R) I’ve ever had….the QPR is off the charts. Smooth and plush and really flavorful. What a find!
