A really tasty & well-made blend of Nero d'Avola & Syrah. Med+ ruby. Med+ black cherry, black plum, red cherry, aromatic herbs, tobacco & sweet baking spices from 8 mos. in American Oak barriques. Dry, smooth, w/ nice fruit, med acidity, med to med+ polished tannins and high (14%) but well integrated alcohol. It is really drinking well now but is still quite youthful. It should continue to improve and show well for the next several years. Great QPR, even better than previous vintages.

Santagostino Baglio Soria, 2016 Paired with Fish & Pasta @ Trattoria Saltimnocca Da Giancario, Catania, Sicily, Italy. Deep garnet purple, bright and crystal clear. Nose with slight flora, spice and herbaceous, earthy, morning greens, complex. Easy entry with strong & rich character, echo the nose, riped black & red fruits with strong minerals, more black fruits with small blend of blue fruits. Rich blackcurrant, berries and slight strawberries. Finished is deep and rich, tobacco emerged towards the end. Good value wine. 90-91 pts
