It shows some age in its gold color, but plenty of freshness remains. It starts tight, offering hints of slate and honey under a layer of petrol and lanolin, with the acid hiding under the off-dry sweetness. As it warms up and aerates, remarkably vibrant honeysuckle takes over, the slate becomes more pronounced, and the acidity integrates and stretches out the finish. A lemon pith bitterness lingers, marring the wine a little bit, but overall it is a pleasure.

Boy this could have sat for another few years. Really acidic -- and really good. Green apples with a trace of bubble gum and an overtone of petrol fuel.
