My last bottle of the 2017- of course also the best because I have no patience (or because it’s a fruit day?). Dark crimson red, noticeably darker than many of the 2018 barolos I’ve opened of late. Nose of roses, balsam and herbaceous flowers. Palate is very fresh, with fine but tenacious tannins and more-ish acidity that accentuates the fruit and balances any bitterness on the finish. 2 hours later and the harmony of tartness, dark red fruit, balsamic and slight orange zest notes combines to an indulgence any Nebbiolo lover will love. Yummy! Superb Langhe Nebbiolo - even in this hot vintage it’s crisp and complex. Right up there amongst the best in its class.

A beautiful baby Barolo. Benefits from a few hours of air. Crunchy tannins on opening which mellowed over the next day. Early on, fresh nose and palate of cranberry and pepper. Later a floral element and some leather and tobacco emerged. Excellent length.

Hot vintage which comes through a bit here but in a charming and quite balanced way. No notes though. Much better than on release.

Coravin and 30 aeration in glas. Unworthy the wine!
Steel cold moreller/cheeries. Light, young, fresh.
Good QPR. Good length.
Benefits from 3h decant or years cellar. Unfriendly without.
