  • PnP and enjoyed over two nights without too much evolution.

Light to medium garnet. Clean and pretty nose with substance - floral then a savory undercurrent of dark soil and underbrush, middle-eastern spice. Palate is medium in body displaying tart firm little berries with a trace of spice. Nice texture that stretches out on the palate like a piece of mozzarella.

While still young, opened quite beautifully after about 90 minutes. Still very nice on night 2. Not much change, really, perhaps a little better. Nose is certainly open for business on this bottle.

  • Originally disappointed on first tasting as seemed light and thin. Decanted and gave it two hours and a light chill. Nose is forest floor, mineral and herb floral notes. Raspberry fruit comes out on first taste and finishes with violet notes and slight sweetness. Still on the delicate side, but this could pass for a Burgundy - Vosne Romanee? Give it some more time or decant a couple hours before serving.

  • Slight reduction on the nose, but this blew off and showed ripe black cherry, black raspberry, maybe even a bit of cassis; floral and a hint of spice as well. Good balance and freshness on the palate and a lovely energy builds with air. A bit darker fruit than I often see from Eyrie, but delicious all the same.

  • Dark and savory Pinot, though it has its bright spots. Very serious overall. Aromas of black plum, dark cherry, peach, a little cranberry, lots of pine forest, subtle white pepper and roses, a bit of roasted root veggies and raw red meat.... quite spicy and woodsy on the palate, layers of fresh ripe fruit, almost silky, and it should get there in time. Long and savory, so much character.... Gevrey-ish? This will evolve positively for many years, possibly more than 20. Gorgeous stuff.
