Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • 12% alcohol.

Deep, concentrated and moderately developed neon yellow-green color. Dull, nutty and oxidative nose with rather flat aromas of musty rancio. The wine is dull, medium-bodied and oxidized on the palate with unpleasant flavors of salty rancio and salted nuts, some cardboard, a little bit of mouldy bread, light earthy tones and a hint of tart lemony citrus fruit. High in acidity. The finish is first dull and earthy, then it takes a turn to worse, exploding into oxidized flavors of cardboard, salty rancio, some rancid nuts, a little bit of unclean earthiness and a hint of something madeirized without any of the nice nuances of Madeira.

Although the wine didn't appear particularly oxidized by its color, it turned out to be one of the most repulsive wines I've ever tasted. This wasn't just dull, oxidative and dead. This was horribly unpleasant and musty with tons of very disagreeable off flavors. And to make it worse, the aftertaste kicked it into next gear - the same way a badly mousy wine can do - right after you swallowed or spat the wine. I don't know if this was just oxidized or if there was something else wrong here as well, but this was a catastrophe by all accounts.
