Started to do some vertical test and found out that there are significant difference between vintages (significant enough for you to think they are from different region or vinyard, etc). So drank this 2009 with 2005 together to comparing. Both are good years for Bordeaux, left bank. Both breathed for 30 minutes.
Both are pretty dark with 2009 vintage more purple. Nose: 2005 showed fresh fruit/berry notes, 2009 however, displayed vanilla or burning sugar character. Body: 2005, fruity with more acidity, and certain tannins, seems body is not as full as for 2009. For 2009, some bitterness/lead to start with, then leather, tons of tannins. More fuller body and last well. there are many years to go for this one.

Dark maroon color. Cigar, leather and espresso nose with just a whisper of dark red fruit. Full bodied and massively structured. The palate shows off some earthiness with tobacco leaf and bing cherry. The acid and tannin are in front at this point and this one needs age, air or food. Maybe all three.

earthy, leather, bit sweet red fruits, not very elegant , a bit disappointing for the 2005 vintage. Drink now!

Very good straight out of the bottle. Can´t really imagine it will improve, so drink now.

Brett, cassis and leather right of the bottle. No need to hold more, drink in the near future.
