  • Drinking well. Colour slightly translucent but good red. Nose not too strong. Taste softer than anticipated, tannins quite subdued. Medium long taste of dark fruit

  • Nose of dark fruits, spice, tea, and oak. Palate shows dark cherries, slate, wet stones, and garrigue. Chunky tannins on the finish with black cherry, stony earth, and white pepper notes. Tasting well now.

  • Decanted for 6 hours and severe with orange, soy and honey duck. The wine is very primary compared to other 2017 CNP’s that I’ve tried. It not a blockbuster but a more subtitle expression of Chateauneuf. Typical nose of spring flowers, bacon fat, smoke and sweet honey. The palate is not dense and a bit hollow. The wine needs a few years and for the tariff is OK. Will never be profound and IMHO there are better Rhone wines that are not called CNP’s that are way better. Saved a glass for next day. A bit less tannic but seems to have lost some fruit and freshness. 88-89. I used to drink this a lot in the late 80’ but seems not as good or maybe my tastes have moved on. For $30 delivered it’s an just OK QPR. Will not repurchase.
