Took my chances and bought a 13 yr old bottle. Not bad but not much going for it. Nose was pretty much muted. Good enough drink with some soy garlic glazed wings.

Wow! Paired with grilled garlic-soy glazed chicken breasts and sweet potatoes. The acidity of the wine cut through the saltiness of the chicken. This is a SUPER SB - everything about this wine is magnified and bold.

Rarely am I this sorry to have consumed the last bottle of anything! Almost another year in the bottle, notes of pineapple and exotic incense have developed, medium body gotten rounder, and still unbelievably smooth and food-friendly. In my opinion, the SB is the best of the Merry Edward range.

Beautiful and round with wonderful complexity. Lots of melon and honeysuckle. A favorite.
