Notes of cherries, salinity, somewhat rich and unctuous. Good structure and grip with a long, powerful finish. I think it needs more time in the cellar to round off the edges.

On day one, this is almost undrinkable unless you like chugging cough syrup. Way too extracted, crazy disjointed fruit. Much better on days 1 & 2, so not sure how this will age. I'm thinking ideally to try in 3-4 years, but probably won't remember my thoughts when I pop the next one.

Typical Griffins Lair with so many N Rhone notes. Saline, bacon fat & savory notes. Fruit and tannins soft now. Excellent right now. Can go longer but won’t get better IMO. Drink.

I hear a lot about Pax and similarities with Northern Rhone but that never really resonated to me. This is very much a new world style of it's own. It's a nice wine nonetheless. Very cherry and whole-cluster green at the same time. Very vegetal. It'll need a few years more to ingest its greenness.

Decanted 90 minutes. First sip was austere & not a hint of sweetness.this wine is drier than West Texas. I didn’t get much in the way of the typical Griffins Lair umami, bacon fat taste. Wine is still quite primary. Wine is big and drying tannings. Not sure what this is going to be when it grows up. Still a well made wine. It lacks the mu,tip,e flavor layer should I like and is more one dimensional than I like.
