  • This wine was okay but a disappointment. Was expecting something more. Had a cola/acidic note.

  • This is ready to drink but definitely not over the hill. Have it with food. It's delicious. Smokey with a beefy, blood, iodine note. Northern Rhone for sure but still in a great spot. But not getting better so drink 'em if you got 'em. Got one left and it's leaving here soon.

  • Sadly, if this had a prime window, it appears we've missed it. There are still some tannins here, but I don't think there are enough to offset the slightly over-the-hill blackberry liqueur presentation. Drink up.

  • Very much enjoyed this bottle at Elizabeth on 37th in Savannah with a double cut brined pork chop. Olive tapenade, bacon fat, pepper, and a touch of band-aid funk on the finish. Slightly overripe. Drink up. This is fully mature and will only go down from here.

  • Tasted 7 years ago where I had my doubts on the further aging potential of this wine, as it was not in a nice place back then. I managed to hold my second bottle until now, which turned out to be a good decision! Pristinely stored while I have had it, my mate brought it home from NYC probably about ten years ago. Now, the wine has found itself again with pronounced aromatics of a 50/50 mix of Northern Rhone and US Syrah. There's a lot of bacon and roasted, smoky elements such as pine needles thrown in a bonfire. Clove spice, black olives and then a rich, liqueured black fruit profile. Also, some tobacco/forest floor development. Body is very rich and tannins resolved to only be vaguely noticable. There is a rather high acidity, Medium+, that makes me think this wine has been acidified, as the other parts of the wine would make me expect a lower acidity. This keeps me from rating the wine higher, as it would otherwise merit. It is really complex now, very drinkable with pronounced nose and flavour intensity, all of a caliber above 92 points. It is well balanced except for this slightly acidic feel to the aftertaste and finish, that makes it drop a point or two, yet I am left satisfied and happy with the showing of this wine. It was not saline to me as the last bottle. I loath salinity, so I am happy for this
