About 2 hours of slow-ox in the bottle then down the hatch. Nice nose, somewhat expressive, flowers and grapes and a coastal breeze (I swear). Comes in with a little high-hat raspberry before quickly ceding to more plush red fruits. Not a ton of dark fruit. A skosh of caramel, or maybe cola or black licorice, especially after some air. Really lovely mid-palate and pleasing finish. I tasted this at the winery and only vaguely recollected, not as I remembered/expected. Good grapes, I opened it for a filet mignon dinner and it went well, but I was expecting something with more power an less finesse.

Enjoyed over 4 hours and opened an hour before that. On pouring, the Bergfeld looks like it should be a very jammy/fruity cab. But it is much more soft and subtle. Only towards the end do the cherry notes really over-take the other flavors (blackberry, maybe casis and a hint of earth). Decent with NY Strip, but in the future I would pair it with a more savory meat - a roast, venison dish (stroganoff?) , or a fatty schnitzel (with lingonberry sauce).

Classic hall style - delicious juicy fruit, easy to enjoy pnp… and as always if you are searching for qpr this probably isn’t your bottle.

Floral and red fruit on the nose, very open. Beautiful mid palate with long and soft finish
