Clear deep appearance On the nose the the intensity is medium (+) and fully developed. Aromas/flavors of blackberry, blueberry, black plums/cherries both fresh and cooked (to some extent) light eucalyptus and mint and spicy notes of tobacco, cedar, nutmeg. Some wet leaf, savory and meaty at the end. On the palate the wine is dry with medium (+) acidity and smooth tannins, high alcohol and full body. The intensity is pronounced and the finish is long. The quality is outstanding and cans drink now not suitable for aging. Fantastic wine

90 min decant was about right. Nice well judged up front fruit but not much else to enjoy mid way through with a below average finish. I’ve had this bottle for over a decade and wasn’t expecting anything great. It was ok and my guests enjoyed it far more than me. This is certainly in its prime and best consumed in the next 2-3 years.

Year in and year out, Bergfeld is one of my favorites from the portfolio of cabs from Hall. The 2010 furthers that perception. Impeccably smooth with a relaxed and extended finish. Well balanced and in its prime drinking window.

After a 1 hour decant, this was a big luxurious CalCab with a hint of age. Modest complexity and no subtlety. But still fun and delicious (now and then). Can easily go another 5 yrs.

One hour decant. Smooth. Definitely in its drinking window.
