Having had one of Chateau Maris' other wines - Les Anciens - last month, I was curious to try Les Planels. 85-95% syrah, 5-15% grenache.
1h decant in the glass, which was sufficient. The producers suggests "notes of sautéed black cherries, blackcurrant, licorice, pepper and cold meats". I didn't get cold meats but I fully agree with dark fruits/berries, licorice, and pepper (and oak)! JD rated this 92 and WA 89-91. Generally, it felt a little bit less complex than Les Anciens imo but still a great wine, also with food.

This is really a nice wine from the Minervois. Syrah, Grenache. Soft and pleasant. Biodynamically certified. 15% alc. not remarkable by temperatures below 18°C. Not for the long term conservation. Drink within the next 2 to 3 years. Highly recommendable for its QPR.

Solid. Medium Purple in colour. Already showing subtle black fruit notes on the nose and a bit of pepper. On the palate lots of blackberry and a bit of black cherry. Medium high tannins as well as medium high acidity. I really enjoyed the long finish! Decanting of 2-3 hours is recommended. A nice Allrounder wine you can’t make anything wrong with

a lot of fruit and a bit of spice on the nose, fruity on the palate (cherry, blackcurrant) and slightly spicy with medium tannins, nice acidity, even after 5 years a bit too much new wood, better after some days, not a lot of depth and complexity, Biodynamic!

One hour decant. Nose: blackberries, oak spices, leather, mushrooms. Palate: blackberries, blueberries, leathery dry, peppercorn, herbs, minerals, touch of vanilla, good balance, medium tannins, lively acidity
