Retail $46. 10 months in barrel (25% in new French oak) 25% Malolactic. I did a bit of scouring on the Ram's Gate website, but I could not determine whether they were going for more of a "Burgundian" (charged term) here. Well, based on the oak regimen, I would guess "yes" and they succeed (I will not get into the whole "Burgundian" argument here). Slightly golden straw in the glass, aromas of oak (albeit subtle), lemon curd (less subtle), and baked apple (yummy). The palate is certainly rich but nicely balanced with a girding tartness and layer upon layer of depth, and a finish that lasts long after my attempt to find a more elegant synonym for "girding." This certainly gets a Yowza and, oh what the heck? Whoa. thedrunkencyclist.com

This is just an excellent, excellent chardonnay at a remarkably fair price. Deep dark straw color. Complex melange of things going on in the nose, including honey, butter, even orange peel. There is more there, but all so well integrated the aromas blend together. Very, very expressive. Palate is big and rich, but somehow also light on its feet, not even close to heavy. Long, rich, fine finish. Quite fabulous, actually. One of the more interesting, attractive Cali chardonnays I have had in some time, and it easily beats much more expensive wines in almost every way. BRAVO!!!! 5-14-18-9: 96/100.
Pale straw color. Offers pear, pineapple, butter, hay and honey. Supple on the palate, medium-bodied, with a creamy texture, flavors of pear and pineapple, and honey hints in the finish.
Paired with a spicy stir-fry.

Nice wine with linear nose and a pleasant but limited palate consisting of lemon zest, grapefruit and honeydew melon. Good QPR.
