Dark fruit and spice with a bite. Really love this wine. 3rd bottle of this vintage. Hard to really call it a Zinfandel due to the strong influence of the petit sirah. Will buy again.

Second bottle of this vintage. Consistently excellent Zinfandel blend. Ready to drink now though can still cellar a bit longer. Will continue to purchase.

So, it’s not really Zin. The petit Sirah is such a dominating taste that it’s 15% is more like 30%+ for some other variety. In this regard, it’s more like a full on blend. But I do like petit syrah, so it’s all good. A good choice to fill out a case.

Unti makes one of the finest Dry Creek Zins in the appellation -which is saying something. Usually full of dark color and deep black raspberry and briar patch spice flavors/aromas, and lush ripe tannins.
But two bottles of the 2017 I tried were defective. Both the same. In the mouth the wine was distinctly spritzy (CO2) with weird spikey acidity and off "reduced" flavors (mercaptans). Possible secondary fermentation in bottle. The bottles were not corked (TCA).
Proceed with caution. Try a bottle before you buy more.
