  • Still towards young, has potential for perfection. I'd suggest to hold your horses for as long as your patience allows you to.

Dark red with slight browning hue and small bricking.
Nose is grande and sports tobacco, dry autumnal forrest floor (leaves and plants, no fungi), beautiful cherry liqueur aromas, dark woods and aromas that state "very early maturity".
In the mouth this is the definition of full bodied. Beautiful structure, like fluid velvet. Not sweet at all. Is bastante, rich, concentrated, intense and has the prettiest acidity in town. The tannins make up a good backbone even though they are mild and still hidden by the young fruit.

There's a cherry liqueur component here that is rich, loud and clear. However, it never takes over or is brusque. This component is simply beautiful.

If you enjoy better Amarone, this is definitely one to look for.

    Wow!

  • Christmas Party - Wine Club (@ HSH): Interesting touch of yeast but also tobacco and it has a lot of complexity. It does have a liqueur tone still which is impressive for such an old wine.
It is certainly still very much alive and kicking and drinking quite nicely.

  • An interesting wine. Medium bodied. When first opened, there nice plummy fruit flavours, but the mid palate had some hints of mushroom or old wood. The mushroomy aspect tended to dominate as time went on. I guess the wine is past its prime.

  • Opened at Ruth's Chris with LTC, GAB, JB. Perfect, smooth, subtle prunes.
