  • eventually opens with an aroma of blue fruit and mushroom, rich with a spiced undertone, palate shows flavors of cherry, raspberry, clove and soy sauce, dark soul, savoury, nice bracing acidity giving a nice sense of balance, clove hints carry off the finish, drinking well now, getting better with air

  • My wife and I have loved this since tasting at Patz and Hall on our honeymoon. Decanted for 30 minutes. Big nose with mix of strawberry and red cherry. Same fruits predominate in the taste with moderate tannin and acidity. Overall, a big fruit forward pinot. An excellent food wine.

  • That this is a big, bold wine is evident from the start. It leads with strong aromas of black cherry and savory notes like black tea and dry dirt overlying a noticeable alcohol bite (14.5). The flavors integrate better after about an hour of air, with red cherry, and some baking spice or something almost savory underneath coming out later. Soft and rounded mouth feel. It’s very nice, but the alcohol still seems a little excessive to me.

  • Popped and poured at cellar temperature. A lovely copper/rusty colour in the glass. Chocolate, red cherries and dusty Turkish Delight on the nose. Round and smooth on the palate, great mouthfeel and more cherries and dusty chocolate flavours. Despite the rich descriptors this is very restrained, lovely by itself but even better with food. No clue where this will go, but my guess is that this is drinking at its prime now.
